TCG Booster Box Policy
Supporting players. Discouraging scalping.
At AFK Gaming, we want trading card games to be played, collected and enjoyed.
Demand for some TCG releases can be exceptionally high, and unfortunately sealed products can sometimes be purchased primarily for immediate resale at inflated prices. We would rather see that stock reach the players and collectors who genuinely want it.
For that reason, AFK Gaming operates a simple booster box policy.
All TCG booster boxes are supplied with the outer seal opened
When you purchase a TCG booster box from AFK Gaming, the outer factory seal or shrink wrap will be opened or removed before the product is supplied or dispatched.
The individual booster packs inside the box remain sealed and untouched.
This policy applies to all TCG booster boxes, with no exceptions, whether purchased online, pre-ordered or bought from us in store.
Why do we do this?
Our aim isn't to make things difficult for genuine customers. Quite the opposite.
Removing the outer seal makes our booster boxes less attractive to people purchasing stock purely to resell it as a factory-sealed collectible, while having virtually no impact on customers buying a box because they actually want the booster packs inside.
It is one of the ways we're trying to:
- Give genuine players and collectors better access to new releases.
- Discourage purchases made purely for short-term resale and scalping.
- Keep sought-after products within the gaming community wherever possible.
- Create a fair and consistent policy that applies to everyone.
What exactly will I receive?
You will receive the booster box and its contents as expected. We do not open the individual booster packs.
Only the external seal/shrink wrap of the booster box is affected by this policy.
Because the box will no longer be factory sealed, please take this into consideration before ordering if maintaining a completely sealed booster box is important to you.
Can I request my box sealed?
No.
We apply the policy consistently to every customer, so we're unable to make exceptions or supply booster boxes factory sealed on request.
This includes products intended for personal collections, gifts or long-term storage.
Does this apply to every TCG?
Yes. The policy applies to all TCG booster boxes sold by AFK Gaming, rather than individual games or particularly sought-after releases.
This keeps the policy straightforward and ensures everyone is treated consistently.
