About AFK Gaming

More than a game store.

AFK Gaming is an independent tabletop gaming store built around a simple idea: games are better when you have people to play them with.

We bring together trading card games, miniature wargaming, board games and the wider hobby under one roof, with a welcoming space where people can shop, play, build, paint and meet other players.

Whether you're opening your first booster pack, building your first army or preparing for your next tournament, there's a place for you at AFK.

We're proud to stock games and hobbies we're genuinely interested in, including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece Card Game, Warhammer, Gundam and a growing selection of board games, accessories and hobby supplies.

But the shelves are only part of what AFK is about.

Our gaming space hosts a regular programme of tournaments, leagues, organised play, hobby days, pre-releases, learn-to-play sessions and casual gaming. Some people come to compete. Some come to paint. Some just want somewhere to spend an afternoon rolling dice with friends.

All of them are part of AFK.

New players are always welcome.

Tabletop gaming can sometimes look intimidating from the outside. There are rulebooks, factions, formats, deck lists, paints, miniatures and enough terminology to fill several dictionaries.

You don't need to know any of it before walking through our door.

If there's a game you'd like to try, we'll help you find a sensible place to start. We're much more interested in helping you discover something you'll enjoy than selling you something you don't need.

Supporting the gaming community.

We believe a good local game store should contribute to the hobby around it.

That means supporting organised play, creating opportunities for people to meet opponents, making space for hobbyists and doing what we reasonably can to make sought-after products available to genuine players and collectors.

It's also why we take issues such as scalping seriously and why we've introduced policies designed to put products into the hands of people who actually want to enjoy them.
